Bill Hayes was not only a skillful actor; he succeeded at being singer too. 1955 saw one of his songs, the “Ballad of Davy Crockett” reached number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart staying top for five weeks and sold more than two million copies. Furthermore, he starred in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Me And Juliet” on Broadway in 1953.
