UFC 296 in Las Vegas at T-Mobil Arena on Saturday Colby Covington’s fight with welterweight champion Leon Edward.

Brandon Royval vs flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja this fight was also great to see. In UFC 296, all four fighters went for gold in a fight.

Edwards has excellent confidence after winning a trilogy against former great champ Kamaru Usman. Now he faced hard-headed, hush-mouthed Covington, which is not as hard to beat a fighter in the UFC arena. The challenger, Covington, is in the ring after the 2022 March UFC 272 beatdown.

Edward lost his fight against Usman in December 2015. Since then, he has been undefeated in the arena and made himself an impressive winner. On the other side, Covington made his journey up and down in the last five fights, defeating three retired fighters, Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler, and Jorge Masvidal, but lost two fights from Kamaru Usman.

Pantoja defends his newly won title for the first time in the flyweight category. This summer, in a big fight against Brandon Moreno. Royal is seeking revenge for his 2021 loss to Pantoja.

Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington Round 1:

Covington hits a head kick. Edouard tried for a shot, but Covington’s header again missed. Edwards landed the first strike of the fight with a left hook and a right hand shortly after.

Covington takes a leg takedown, but Edwards fights off the first attempt efficiently. Edwards hit with a left hook. Edwards starts kicking as well.

Covington makes a point with a body kick. Edwards responds with a nice body kick. Edwards lands a powerful right hook. Edwards keeps a distance, himself out of Covington’s attack range, also kicking Covington’s leg.

Covington handles this like a boss. Edwards countered with a left hand, and Covington continued to let Edwards use his best skills in the game. Edwards with a jab left hand behind.

Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington Round 3:

Covington tried to take down early in the fight but was unsuccessful before landing a leg kick. Edwards continued to repeat the kicks as Covington’s leg became increasingly bruised. Covington also started reacting. Covington attempted a deep takedown.

Edwards tried to back off, allowing Covington to complete the takedown and take the lead.

Edwards returns quickly and lands a head kick for a takedown. Edwards hits a double suplex. Covington lands a few nasty punches and misses another kick. Covington tried to pick a leg and took a takedown, but he failed. Covington tried a jumping knee. Edwards is close to finishing the round.

Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington Round 4:

Edwards tries to land a kick. Covington goes for a takedown, and Edwards nearly gets choked out; Covington almost gets a takedown. Edwards stopped it from finishing with a body slam.

Edwards kicks to the body, and Covington tries to grab it again; Edwards almost takes the lead, and Covington takes the lead in the fight. Edwards pulled Covington off his back and hit him with his knees. It was a better round for Covington, but Edwards gave a better-attacking performance.

Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington Round 5:

Edwards lands a right hand. Covington takes the fight to the canvas with a shot and a high single leg. Edwards fought back, coming from the back of Covington and trying to sink his uppercuts.

Edwards turned to a triangle choke, and when Covington finally got to the top, he lost his footing. Covington landed some punches from the top position but in vain, ending the fight on top but losing the round.
