NFC Playoff Race Heats Up as Cowboys Defeat Eagles.

Cowboys Defeat Eagles

This year, the Cowboys proved themselves as the best team. Cowboys secured the top position on the table after beating their most formidable rivals and entire squad on the tables, the Eagles, by 33:13. Dallas Cowboys are just four games away from winning the title.

They performed well in all the games to equal the number of matches won with the Eagles, as both teams have won 10 NFC East matches this year. Holding the Eagles to just two field goals, three takeaways, and an essential fourth down stop depicts the Cowboys’ Strength in this year’s NFC.

Cowboys vs Eagles

First Half

In the first quarter, the Eagles never showed a fight. First, they were 10-0 down and finished the half-time with a 24-6 down. Everyone who watched the game witnessed that the Eagles played their season-worst game. People were not expecting this defeat for the Philadelphia Eagles as the Eagles mastered in the last two games and looked over-matched.

2nd Half

Even in the second half, the eagles did not attend the fight, as they hardly passed a dozen mark. They just scored 7 in the second half. On the other hand, the Dallas Cowboys kept the momentum and scored 9. Cowboys finished the lead with 33-13. Philadelphia’s only touchdown came from a Dak Prescott fumble. The Dallas offence was less potent than in previous games, but Prescott still threw two touchdown passes, and the running game continued to pressure the Eagles.

Brandon Aubrey

Brandon Aubrey kicked 26 goals in his initial career;  Coach Mike McCarthy asked him to try a 60-yard field goal. He nailed it once again as the streak was ending. Aubrey has still not missed an FG all season.
In the first few years of his career, he scored the most successful goals in the field, which is a record. In October, he became NFC Special Teams Player of the Month.
Furthermore, rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey continues to impress, scoring four more field goals at distances of 60, 59, 45, and 50 yards. This establishes a new team record for most consecutive carries with 30 yards.

Don Meredith

Comparatively, Don Meredith achieved at least two touchdowns in 12 games over the 1965 and 1966 seasons. However, Prescott needed help with accuracy in this match. He completed only 58.1% of his passes in three quarters (18 out of 31)—this remains the third game this season where he has completed fewer passes than his average. Although not as perfect as in previous games, Prescott’s performance was still valuable. He threw two more touchdown passes, making his seventh consecutive game.

The Cowboys secured their fifth successive win. This is the third consecutive year of double-digit victories. Such a winning streak hasn’t been seen since the six-season run from 1991 to 1996, which saw them win three Super Bowls.
