As the heavy rain is being reced and winds calm down, Post Storm utility crews are deployed in the ground of New Jersey evaluating and working on restoring power outages resulting from previous storm.

In the early hours of Wednesday, over 87,000 customers faced power outages, with around 55,000 customers from JCP&L, PSE&G, Atlantic City Electric, and Orange & Rockland still affected as of 6: 45 a.m.

“In addition, Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow of NJ 101.5 said winds would drop significantly; however, gusts up to 40 mph will also be encountered all day long.”

Post Storm, Power Outages Breakdown by Utility:

JCP&L: 25126customer impact with the initial surge in Burlington, Hunterdon, Monmouth, Ocean and Passaic counties.
PSE&G: 10,00 customers affected to the major extend of Burlington Camden Mercer and Somerset counties.
Atlantic City Electric: 20 Verizon customers faced the impact, spanning mainly Atlantic, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.

Orange & Rockland: Scattered outages across its service area.

All outages must be immediately reported, around such downed wires should be careful they can still be live.

Chris Hoenig with spokesperson of JCPB bl declared that the utility is now filing for more than 850 additional people, line employees and staff support, to bolster the crews. The emphasis is on removing obstacles, evaluating negative impacts, and giving priority to massive outages for restoration.

People who live in homes that are flooded have been cautioned against the different appliances advisedly located in basement surrounded by water, saying even normally no power charged may be high-charging. ⌈Heaters and air conditioners should turn off if it is safely practicable.

Besides, care should be taken while entering basements flooded basements with standing water or sewage where there is the electric hazard and residents are not advised to enter in front of breaker boxes. It is also recommended to stay watchful for displaced animals and snakes striving for shelter.
