The famous space agency NASA is often known for saying, “Houston, we have a problem.” This quote became famous when it’s used during the Apollo 13 mission. In that mission they found themselves in a bad situation. This question is always raised: why NASA specifically mention Houston in its communications. Houston has historical significance to NASA.

The santance “Houston, we have a problem” became a famous after the Apollo 13 mission in 1970. The crew members of Apollo 13 found themselves in most danger on their way to the moon. When an oxygen tank exploded, put their mission and their lives in danger.
Astronaut Jack Swigert exchanged words with mission control in Houston, Texas. he said rapidly, “Houston, we’ve got a problem here.” The words have stuck ever. There is a misquotation of this phrase in popular culture as “Houston, we have a problem.”.

Why Houston?
Houston, Texas, This city is home to the Johnson Space Center. In this facility NASA does human spaceflight activities. Mission Control Center also in Johnson Space Center, where trained flight controllers monitor and support space missions.
The center also serves as a facility for astronaut training and conducts important research and development work for space exploration
Houston is selected as the home of Mission Control and the Johnson Space Center way back in early days of NASA. President John F. Kennedy in 1961 announced to send a mission to the moon, sending humans and returning them safely to Earth.
To achieve this aspirational goal, NASA needs a central location for mission control and astronaut training. Houston has pleasant climate potential for splashing water.
Its existing infrastructure, including the Manned Spacecraft Center, was later renamed the Johnson Space Center.
While Houston is the primary communications point for NASA’s human spaceflight missions, communications are sometimes established with other ground stations around the world based on mission requirements and spacecraft location.
Johnson Space Center
NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston has played an important role in United State’s entry into the new century with new innovations in tech and scientific discovery.
JSC managed the Space Shuttle Program. Johnson Space Center currently supervises International Space Station activity and missions.
Orion spacecraft was developed here and made a big contribution to NASA’s Gateway outpost program and advanced human exploration projects. NASA’s Commercial Crew program this center plays an important role.
The largest research and development facilities of NASA are in Johnson Space Station. The greater Houston area has become an aerospace center known by amazing innovation, achievements, and hard work.
